So, here are some examples of what I get up to when I get let loose with a keyboard and mouse. These, along with the very site at which you are looking, should give you a general idea of my capabilities when it comes to telling computers what to do.
Websites
Here are a few links to some websites I've either designed or had something to do with...
The National Association Of NZ Quilters.
The National Association of New Zealand Quilters principle objective is to promote and lead the development of patchwork, quilting and textile artists within New Zealand.
This website used a supplied design, which I then made fit to a customised back-end that allows for the owner of the site to update the text as required, all created by yours truly, with some help from some existing scripts that I modified to suit!
Wong Creations.
Marti Wong is a sculptor based here in Hamilton, New Zealand. He makes some of the most amazing works of art out of old car parts, tools, and scrap metal that you are ever likely to see.
This is a design created by me, again using a back end that allows for updates without prior HTML knowledge.
Manawa Academy.
Manawa are a private training establishment, specialising in sports education.
Another one of my designs. This is the third design iteration for Manawa, and may I say, the sharpest looking one yet!
Software
Just one or two bits of software I've written, mostly whilst completing my degree...
psi-man
This was a project I undertook in my final semester at Tech for Multimedia. We had to design a multimedia application to aid in learning. I chose to build an application in Macromedia Director based upon the old electronic Simon-says game from the early 1980's.
As you can see, I think I managed to duplicate the look of the old game quite well! All of the buttons light up either by keypress or by using the mouse. It took some figuring out how to program the mouse actions without being able to "cheat" by holding down the mouse button.
The game was written in Lingo, director's native programming language, and all of the graphics were created in Jasc Paintshop Pro 7. In all it took about 2 to 3 weeks in total to develop. At the time I was involved in a Major Project, which dominated a lot of my time, but it was a welcome break away from database schema and PHP, and I really enjoyed getting this one going!
